In summer, the time for berries comes and goes quickly enough. But I want to get vitamins and enjoy a delicious delicacy in the cold season. For this, a person began to prepare food for future use: pickles, preserves, conservation, freezing. The last method of storing berries is the most preferable.
Various berries enrich the body with useful trace elements and vitamins. In addition, their taste is so pleasant that additional processing is not required for cooking. Frozen berries do not lose their properties if they are correctly picked and prepared for further storage. It should be noted that in this form, they do not contain harmful chemicals (cadmium, lead). Buying berries in the store in winter, you run the risk of sending foods stuffed with various additives and impurities into the body.
To properly freeze the berries, you must first sort them out and rinse them in running water. Do not choose underripe or overripe fruits, fruits with damage and pests. Only strong and ripe berries without stalks and leaves are suitable for freezing. It can be strawberries, raspberries, currants, cherries, strawberries, blueberries, cranberries and many others.
Dry thoroughly after rinsing. For this, it is recommended to use a sheet of paper or a towel, laying out the berries in one layer.
Next, the first batch is laid on a small board and sent to the freezer. Only after complete freezing can they be poured into a bag into certain portions and tightly tied. Otherwise, the berries will absorb various odors (greens, fish, meat), which will significantly impair the taste characteristics. It is not recommended to put berries of different types in one container (as an exception, only varieties of currants).
On cold winter days, the benefits of frozen berries will have a positive effect on your mood and body condition. You can prepare original desserts and please your children and loved ones with them when the weather is bad outside and the snow is sweeping.
