Regardless of whether you bought the fruit in bulk or have a very large harvest, or just bought too many boxes of seasonal berries, you need to do something with them before they go bad. The best solution would be to freeze them for the future so that you can pamper yourself with summer fruits and berries even in winter.
Instructions
Step 1
Wash the fruit using only cold water. The water will wash away any pesticides that may be on the surface of the fruit. Then dry the fruit with a paper towel.
Step 2
Cut the fruit into pieces. If you are freezing berries, such as strawberries, you can skip this step. However, the general rule of thumb is that it is best to freeze the pieces as they freeze more easily than whole fruits and berries.
Step 3
Transfer the sliced fruit to a plate covered with baking paper. Make sure the pieces are not touching, otherwise they will stick together during the freezing process. Place the plate in the freezer.
Step 4
When the fruit is completely frozen, you can move it from the plate to a more convenient storage container, such as a plastic bag or vacuum wrap. Leave in the freezer until needed.
