It is necessary

  • - milk - 2 glasses
  • - oat flakes - 1 glass
  • - sugar - 4 tablespoons (you can taste a little more or less)
  • - butter - 50 grams (as much as possible)
  • - salt - 1 pinch
  • - various additives to taste

Instructions

Step 1

When choosing oatmeal for cooking porridge, pay attention to the name that is indicated on the package. "Extra" flakes are divided into 3 types and differ slightly in structure density and cooking time. If "Extra 3" can be simply poured with hot milk and let it brew, then "Extra 1" must be cooked for at least 15 minutes. But at the same time, the longer the flakes are boiled, the more useful the porridge is for the body.

Step 2

"Hercules" is considered a separate variety, and the porridge from it is the thickest and healthiest. The packaging of the flakes must be airtight, otherwise they absorb moisture and are unsuitable for cooking. Fresh flakes must be white with a cream or yellow tint and have a pronounced oat smell.

Step 3

Milk is poured into a saucepan and brought to a boil over low heat. Do not leave milk unattended because it will run away in a few seconds. After boiling, sugar and salt are added to the pan, everything is mixed and cooked until completely dissolved. Then oatmeal is poured, the fire is kept to a minimum, and the porridge is cooked for about 5-15 minutes, depending on the type of flakes, with occasional stirring.

Step 4

The saucepan is removed from the heat, oil is added to the cooked oatmeal porridge, and left to infuse for at least 5 minutes under the lid. With this cooking option, the oatmeal should turn out to be quite thick, but if you like a thinner version, try to reduce the amount of flakes - with 4 tablespoons, the porridge is cooked quite liquid. If desired, you can add various nuts, fruits, berries, dried fruits, honey to the dish.
