Ingredients for 10-12 Serving Lean Pies:

• 1, 5-1, 8 kg of flour;

• 800 ml of warm water;

• 70 g fresh yeast or granulated sachet;

• 1 cup of sugar;

• 200 ml of vegetable oil;

• 2, 5-3 tsp. coarse salt;

• 1 kg of white cabbage;

• 2 pcs. carrots and onions;

• 1 tsp. ground pepper;

• strong and sweet tea leaves (for greasing pies).

We take a glass of warm water and stir fresh or dry yeast in it. Then add 1/2 tbsp to this mixture. tablespoons of sugar, stir again and leave for a few minutes.

Pour the remaining water into another dish. Dissolve all the sugar, salt, pour in 120-150 ml of sunflower oil and yeast mixture. Stirring with a fork, add a little flour and knead an elastic dough for lean pies, which should not stick to your hands.

To make the dough elastic and soft, it is advisable to sift the flour. Cover the finished lump of dough in a bowl with a towel and, leaving in a warm place, let it come up two or three times, knead after each rise.

For filling the pies, finely chop the cabbage, put it in a colander and scald with boiling water, let it sit for 10 minutes.

We heat the vegetable oil. Finely chop the onions, three carrots, fry the vegetables until golden brown. We transport steamed cabbage to them, salt, pepper and fry for 7-8 minutes.

We tear off the lumps from the dough, roll balls out of them, flatten them, put the cabbage filling in the center and sculpt pies.

We bake delicious pies with cabbage in the oven on a greased baking sheet. The temperature is 200-210 degrees, the time is 12-16 minutes. Before sending the pies to the oven, so that the products come out beautiful and ruddy, grease their surface with tea leaves.
