Wolves are considered one of the most common mushrooms. They grow in birch and mixed forests, mainly in Central Russia and in the north. If seasoned mushroom pickers can easily distinguish between mushrooms and mushrooms and inedible mushrooms, then amateurs may have some difficulties. What do you need to know, delving deeper into the thicket of forests?

Instructions

Step 1

First, remember how the waves should look like. First of all, they are easy to distinguish by their characteristic fibrous, "shaggy" cap. The hats of the waves are plump, with a dimple in the middle and curled edges, up to 12 cm in diameter. The legs are about 6 cm long and up to 20 cm thick. The hats and legs are of the same color. They can be pink or white, depending on the species. The caps of the pink wave have concentric rings, the white (white) caps have half the size, and there are no circles.

Step 2

Go mushroom hunting between July and October. Keep in mind that the main harvest of the waves falls in September. Look for waves under the birches. One of their distinguishing features is that they rarely grow individually, but are poured out in piles. White waves love sunlight, most of all they can be found in open places, forest edges, borders of the forest, etc. Pink wolves prefer damp and swampy soil, and they should be looked for in shady places.

Step 3

Pay attention to the weather as it affects the appearance of the mushrooms. It must be remembered that on rainy days the caps of the waves are sticky in the middle and have a specific pinkish tint. In dry and sunny weather, on the other hand, they fade slightly in the sun.

Step 4

Do not throw the mushroom directly into the basket, as soon as you cut it, first inspect it to make sure it is authentic. Volnushki belong to the genus of the lactarius: their strong flesh gives off acrid white juice - in saffron milk caps, their closest relatives, the juice is orange. In addition, the pulp of the waves emits a specific bitter odor. Some people compare it to the scent of geranium.

Step 5

Do not throw away the cut mushroom if it turns out to be wormy or not at all. Better hang it on some twig: the forest dwellers will treat them to it, or when it dries up, it will dispel spores and give a new crop. Follow the mushroom picker ethic.
