Fig jam is versatile: it can be served with tea, and can also be used as a filling for baking.
It is necessary
- - 1 kg fresh figs
- - 500 g sugar
- - 2 limes
- - 50 ml orange liqueur
- - 10 g pectin
Instructions
Step 1
The figs should be well washed and dried.
Step 2
Pour pectin and sugar into the jam pan.
Step 3
The tough tails of the figs should be cut off and the fruit cut into slices. Put them in a saucepan with sugar.
Step 4
Remove the zest from the lime with a fine grater.
Step 5
Add lime juice and zest to the figs. Pour 3 tbsp there. orange liqueur.
Step 6
The berries should be thoroughly mixed with sugar and left for 20-30 minutes for the juice to stand out.
Step 7
Put the saucepan over moderate heat and cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the figs are tender.
Step 8
The resulting jam must be processed with an immersion blender. You should not try to make an absolutely smooth consistency, small pieces will only decorate with jam.
Step 9
The resulting jam must once again be warmed up and put in clean sterile jars.
