Experienced chefs know how important it is to properly serve a dish to the table. Preparing a culinary masterpiece is half the battle, because if it is not presented in the best possible light, it can go unnoticed.

It is necessary

  • - plates;
  • - cutlery;
  • - napkins and tablecloth /

Instructions

Step 1

Take dishes of neutral shades, light pastel colors, for example, white, light blue, ivory, light beige, and preferably without any patterns or patterns. If there is no single-color tableware, then it is best to opt for cutlery with a minimum number of patterns, ideally only along the sides of the plates.

Step 2

Choose a tablecloth or napkins of dull colors: plain or with one simple, but bright enough pattern or thin pattern. You should not take a colorful tablecloth or one that has a catchy, saturated color, such as red, orange, green, blue. Pay special attention to the serving not to distract attention from the dish.

Step 3

Choose how to arrange the dish on the plate. This will depend largely on the consistency of the dish and the shape of the ingredients that make it up. Remember that in any case, food should not occupy the entire area of the plate, and even more so, be located on the sides.

Step 4

Arrange the food on the plate symmetrically, both halves in equal proportions. This method works especially well for simple, classic two-piece dishes like meat or fish with a vegetable side dish.

Step 5

Arrange the food on the plates asymmetrically, one part should be much larger than the other. This method is suitable for both simple and exotic and fusion-style dishes. You can create asymmetrical compositions from dishes that have two or more parts.

Step 6

Place the round or oval elements of the dish in a circle around the center point of the plate. Experiment with the height of the elements: it is convenient to arrange them in steps of increasing height, like a spiral staircase. This way of serving is perfect for vegetable dishes with mugs of courgettes, carrots, eggplants, as well as cookies, sweets and cakes.

Step 7

Supply new, little-known, exotic dishes with beautiful cardboard vignettes, which can contain any interesting facts about this dish or an explanation in what quality (first, second, dessert, salad) it is presented on the table and how it should be eaten. In a friendly, family circle, it is also appropriate to add a recipe to the vignette (if you do not want to keep it a secret).
