Seventy percent vinegar is called essence. It is rarely used in cooking due to its high concentration of acetic acid. The most commonly used solution is nine percent.
It is not difficult to make a 9% solution from 70% vinegar. To do this, you need water and knowledge of the required proportions.
Faceted glass technique
A faceted glass contains 17 spoons of liquid. To get a glass of 9% vinegar, you need to pour a full glass of water, and then add only two and a half tablespoons of vinegar to it.
This method is good if you don't have a full bottle of vinegar or you just don't need a lot of essence.
Universal method
You can prepare the required solution using only a tablespoon. To prepare a 9% vinegar solution from 70% essence, you will need to dilute one spoonful of vinegar with 7 tablespoons of water. For two tablespoons of vinegar, you will need 14 tablespoons of water and so on.
If you need a lot of essence, then a whole bottle of 70% solution can also be diluted 1 to 7. For example, if there are 200 ml of the substance in a bottle of acid, you will need seven times more water, that is, 1400 ml. As a result, you will get almost one and a half liters of a 9 percent vinegar solution.
Important Tips
If you dilute the essence, then decide in advance where the resulting solution will be. Always pour the correct amount of water first, because it is much easier to work with. If you fill in the wrong amount of water, you can simply pour it into the sink without suffering from funnels and an unpleasant smell.
When working with acids, you should always have rubber gloves with you, as the acidic environment corrodes the skin. If vinegar gets in your eyes, do not panic - immediately rinse your eyes with plenty of water.
As you can see, making a vinegar solution containing 9 percent acid from 70 percent essence is not that difficult. The main thing is not to forget about safety precautions and remember the ratio of 1 to 7 - 1 part of vinegar and 7 parts of water.
