Semolina porridge is a familiar and familiar dish to everyone from childhood. However, how often, at the mention of it, even adults begin to brush off their hands and say that they hate semolina porridge, because they didn’t eat anything more disgusting, and the children simply strive, as it were, to accidentally overturn the plate. In fact, semolina can be delicious and appealing to even the pickiest little eater. It is only important to know how to cook it correctly.

It is necessary

    • semolina
    • 120-150 ml.;
    • milk
    • cream or water
    • 500 ml.;
    • small saucepan;
    • butter;
    • natural flavors (sugar
    • cinnamon
    • vanillin
    • honey
    • pieces of fruit
    • jam).

Instructions

Step 1

The most important thing when cooking semolina is the exact observance of the proportions of all components. Take half a liter of milk and 120-150 ml. semolina (about three quarters of a glass). Pour the milk into a small saucepan and place over the fire. To prevent milk from burning on the bottom, pre-rinse the saucepan with cold water.

Step 2

Bring the milk to a boil and add half a teaspoon of salt to it. Pour the semolina into the boiling milk, stirring constantly. Moreover, the cereal should not be poured out all at once, otherwise unpleasant lumps will form, but evenly scattering over the entire surface of the milk with a sieve or from a spoon. Without ceasing to stir vigorously, cook the porridge for a minute or two.

Step 3

When the porridge begins to thicken a little, stop stirring it, close the pan tightly with a lid and leave to stand for 10-15 minutes. During this time, the porridge will swell and become dense and homogeneous. This point is very important. It is during this period that the porridge acquires its special taste and aroma, while it slowly “melts” under the lid. It is characteristic that at the same time no useful vitamins are lost from the cereals.

Step 4

Season the present porridge with butter and pour into plates. For additional taste, you can add any ingredients to the finished porridge: sugar, jam, honey, cinnamon, grated chocolate, vanillin, etc. In addition, slices of bananas, apples or tangerines-oranges can be added to the porridge already poured on plates. It all completely depends on your preference.

Step 5

If necessary, semolina can be boiled in water, adding milk or cream in small quantities only at the end of cooking. In this case, the whole procedure is carried out in the same way as in conventional cooking, only water is taken instead of milk in the same proportion. And before you turn off the heat and put the porridge to "ripen", add milk or cream to it. And then close the lid in the same way for 10-15 minutes.
