The second required ingredient is milk. When choosing this product, focus on the one that can be stored not for months, but for several days. Purchase pasteurized or UHT milk.

Make a leaven. To do this, boil 200 grams of milk and cool to 45 ° C. Open a bottle of sourdough, pour a teaspoon of warm milk into it. Close the stopper, shake the contents vigorously several times.

Pour the contents of the bottle into the warmed milk, stir with a spoon. If you have a yogurt maker, place the drink in it. If not, then pour the dissolved starter into a thermos and cover it tightly with a lid.

In a warm place, it will be ready in 8-10 hours. You only need a tablespoon of sourdough per liter of milk. Store the rest in the refrigerator. It should be used within two weeks. If you do not need as much yogurt, then dilute not the whole bottle, but, for example, a quarter of the bottle. Then do not pour milk into the bottle, but part of its contents into the warm liquid.

Boil a liter of milk, let it cool down to 40-45 ° C. Add a tablespoon of cooked sourdough, stir. Ferment milk in a thermos, yogurt maker, or glass jar in a warm place.

After 6 hours, natural homemade Bulgarian yoghurt is ready. It is stored in the refrigerator for quite a long time - up to seven days. As needed, put the amount you need in a glass, add berries and relish. Add yogurt to salads instead of sour cream and mayonnaise, as it is lower in calories.

If it is not possible to purchase a yogurt starter at a pharmacy, then use a simplified preparation option. Buy a box of natural yogurt without flavorings, sugar. Boil a liter of milk. Cool to 40 ° C, add yogurt, stir. Next, cook the fermented milk product, as in the previous case - in a yogurt maker or thermos for 6-9 hours. The longer it stays warm, the thicker and more sour it will turn out.
