This cake came to us from the French province of Lorraine. It is an open pie filled with cheese and egg filling. The classic pie involves filling with chicken meat with mushrooms, but now this pie is made with very different fillings. For example, bacon pie is delicious. It can be served as a hot breakfast or as a cold appetizer.
It is necessary
- For the cake:
- - 12 tbsp. flour
- - 6 tbsp. margarine or butter
- - 2 yolks
- - salt to taste
- For filling:
- - 4 slices of bacon
- - 2 eggs
- - 5 tbsp. milk or cream
- - 100 g of cheese
- - salt, spices to taste
Instructions
Step 1
Cooking the dough. Mix butter or margarine with flour and rub with your fingers. Add yolks and stir. If it's tight, you can add a tablespoon of water or milk. Knead the dough, wrap it in foil and put it in the refrigerator for half an hour.
Step 2
Preheat the oven to 220 degrees. Distribute the dough in shape and pierce with a fork. We put in the oven for 10 minutes.
Step 3
Cut the bacon into pieces and lightly fry. Rub the cheese. Beat eggs with milk and add cheese, salt and spices. Scatter the bacon over the surface of the pie and fill it with the egg-cheese mixture. We return to the oven for another 20 minutes. The cake is ready.
