  • - onion - 1 pc.;
  • - mustard - 2 tbsp. l.;
  • - white wine vinegar - 100 ml;
  • - water - 400 ml;
  • - mustard seeds - 2 tsp;
  • - carnation buds - 3-4 pcs.;
  • - sugar - 1 tsp;
  • - ground black pepper - 0.5 tsp;
  • - salt - 1 tsp.

Instructions

Step 1

Cooking the marinade. Boil water. Add salt, sugar, ground pepper and cloves, cook the marinade for 2-3 minutes. Then remove the broth from the stove, cool slightly. Add mustard seeds and wine vinegar and stir. Cool the marinade to room temperature. The marinade is ready.

Step 2

Cooking herring fillets. Rinse the herring with water, remove the scales. Cut the fish lengthwise into two parts. Remove all pits carefully. Cut the herring fillet into two equal long strips. As a result, you should get 8 strips of fillet.

Cooking the filling. Cut the gherkins in half lengthwise. Rinse the bell peppers with water, remove the stalk and seeds. Cut into thin strips. Peel the onions, cut into half rings. Cut each cucumber in half across.

Place the herring fillets, skin side down, on a cutting board. Brush with mustard, top with half a cucumber, a slice of pepper and a few half rings of onion. Gently roll the fillet into a roll and secure with wooden skewers. Do the same for all the fish fillets. As a result, you should get 8 rolls.
