It is necessary

  • - 2 sheets of nori;
  • - 200 grams of rice;
  • - any selected ingredients for the filling (fish, vegetables, caviar, seafood, meat).

Instructions

Step 1

To prepare gunkans, you will need all the same products as for rolls and sushi - rice, nori seaweed, filling.

Rice is cooked according to the same recipe with added sugar, salt and rice vinegar. It is very important that the rice is cooked to the end, but it does not turn out too soft and boiled. Otherwise, the gunkans will not hold and the filling will begin to fall out of them already when the dish is served.

Step 2

But the algae will need to be folded in a completely different way than for sushi and rolls.

First, you need to cut pieces from the nori sheet, about 3 by 7 centimeters (you can do this using ordinary kitchen scissors). Then slightly moisten the resulting piece with warm boiled water so that it can be easily rolled up. The ends of the leaf are overlapped to form an oval "boat" without a bottom.

Step 3

Next, warm rice is tightly placed on the bottom of the boat, and any filling you like is on top of it. Often gunkans can be added with spicy sousa. In this case, fish cut into small pieces, boiled chicken, caviar or any other ingredients will need to be mixed with the sauce, and then carefully placed on top of the rice. You can also add vegetables, mushrooms and curd cheese to fish, seafood and meat.
