Pizza is one of the most popular Italian dishes in the world. It is served both as fast food and in expensive restaurants. Pizza was originally a food for the poor, because you can put almost anything in it. The obligatory ingredients of any pizza are tomatoes and cheese, but the rest depends on your imagination. The classic "Margarita" is perhaps the most common order in the world. And it is prepared extremely simply.

It is necessary

    • 7 g dry yeast;
    • 350 g flour;
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 glass of warm water;
    • fresh tomatoes or tomatoes in their own juice;
    • Mozzarella;
    • 1-3 cloves of garlic;
    • ground black pepper;
    • green basil leaves.

Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare a yeast pizza dough. Combine the flour and salt in a deep bowl. Make a depression in the center, pour yeast into it. Stir in olive oil and some warm water. Begin kneading the dough with a spoon, preferably a wooden spoon, gradually adding water if necessary. The dough may require more flour depending on its quality.

Step 2

Place the dough on a floured table and knead it with your hands until smooth for a few minutes. The dough should lag well behind the hands and, when kneading, make sounds like a squeak. Place the resulting bun in a warm place, cover with a clean towel and leave to rest for 20-30 minutes. Prepare the filling at this time.

Step 3

Pour boiling water over fresh tomatoes, after making cross cuts at the base with a knife. Gently peel off the softened skin and chop the tomatoes. If you are using tomatoes in their own juice, simply cut them up.

Step 4

Chop or crush the peeled garlic, mix with the tomatoes, salt and pepper to taste. Rinse the basil leaves under running water. Place the filling in a heated skillet and heat in olive oil for a few minutes to create a fragrant thick sauce. You can leave some even basil leaves to decorate your pizza.

Step 5

Knead the rested dough again, roll it out with a rolling pin into a layer no more than 1 cm thick. Using the same rolling pin, carefully transfer the dough to a baking sheet and roll it again to slightly reduce the thickness. You can stretch the edges of the base with your fingers.

Step 6

Spread the dough with warm tomato sauce, top with mozzarella balls and garnish with basil. For a spicier taste, you can add grated Parmesan. You can also spread yellow or red tomato slices all over the surface of the pizza for garnish. Bake the pizza at 200 degrees Celsius for about 20 minutes, until the cheese is melted.
