Cutlets have long become a favorite dish on the Russian table. They are traditionally served fried, but for those looking for a low-calorie and dietary product, they can be boiled or steamed.

It is necessary

    • minced meat - 0.5 kg;
    • onion - 1 pc;
    • potatoes - 1 pc;
    • white bread - 1 pc;
    • egg - 1 pc;
    • salt and pepper to taste.

Instructions

Step 1

To make the cutlets more delicious, make them from homemade minced meat. At the same time, you can choose the meat based on your taste. However, a more tender dish will turn out to be pork.

Step 2

Prepare minced meat using a meat grinder or blender. Then break a raw egg into it, add finely chopped onion and garlic.

Step 3

Grate raw potatoes on a fine grater, squeeze them with your hands or with cheesecloth and add to the meat. In the same way, you should squeeze out white bread soaked in water. It also needs to be put in minced meat.

Step 4

Season with salt and pepper to taste and mix thoroughly with your hands. To make the cutlets more juicy and soft, the minced meat must be whipped. To do this, take a small part of the resulting mass in your hand and throw it with force into a separate container. Repeat this several times with all the minced meat.

Step 5

Put a pot of water on the fire to boil the cutlets. While the water is boiling, stick them on. Wet your hands in cold water and roll a small ball out of the minced meat. Then flatten it slightly and give it an oval shape.

Step 6

Salt boiling water and gently dip one patty after the other into it. Try not to let them touch each other until they grab a little. You should also not throw a lot of cutlets at once - they should have enough free space during the cooking process. After 10 minutes after boiling, carefully remove them with a slotted spoon, put them on a plate and garnish with herbs.

Step 7

A similar dish can also be steamed. To do this, it is better to use a double boiler, but in its absence, improvised means - a saucepan and a colander - are perfect.

Step 8

Fill half a saucepan with water and bring to a boil. Then place a colander in it so that its bottom does not reach the water. Then put the cutlets into it. It will take a little more time to cook in this way, besides, you must remember to turn them over.
