  • - sauerkraut - 3 kg;
  • - pork - 500 g;
  • - onions - 3 pcs.;
  • - tomato paste - 1 spoon;
  • - salt, sugar, black pepper - to taste;
  • - flour - 1 tbsp. the spoon;
  • - butter - 1 tbsp. the spoon;
  • - vegetable oil for frying.

Instructions

Step 1

Place the sauerkraut in a deep bowl, fill it with warm water, rinse and overturn in a colander. Repeat 4-5 times to make the cabbage less salty. Then we squeeze the cabbage.

Step 2

Grease a frying pan with oil, unload cabbage into it, lightly fry over low heat. Then cover and simmer over low heat for about an hour and a half, adding water if necessary (so as not to burn). The cabbage should be soft.

Step 3

Meanwhile, rinse the pork and cut it into small pieces (1-3 cm).

Peel three onions and cut into medium sized pieces. Unload the pork together with another greased frying pan. Fry over low heat, stirring occasionally, for about 20 minutes. Do not overcook too much: the pork should be covered with a light crust, and the onion should acquire a golden hue.

Step 5

Add 1 tablespoon of tomato paste, 1/3 cup of water to the pork, mix thoroughly and leave on low heat under a lid for 5 minutes.

Step 6

When the cabbage has softened, pour the pork and onions into it. Add salt, sugar and spices. Mix everything and simmer over low heat, stirring for about half an hour.

Step 7

Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a frying pan, add a spoonful of flour and mix. Add to the hodgepodge, mix and simmer for another 5-10 minutes.

Step 8

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. We put the hodgepodge into a baking dish and put in the oven for 30-40 minutes. The food should be browned. After that, you can remove the hodgepodge from the oven and serve.
