The cakes decorated with the usual cream were yesterday. Today's cakes covered with mastic differ from them not only in taste, but also in appearance, often representing a real work of art. Of the several types of mastics at home, the easiest way to make sugar is.
It is necessary
-
- 80 ml of water
- 7 g gelatin
- 2 tbsp glucose
- 1 tbsp margarine
- 1 kg caster sugar
Instructions
Step 1
First thing you need to do is soak the gelatin. Fill it with water and leave to swell for 30-40 minutes, then remove it from the water.
Step 2
Heat the gelatin in a water bath until dissolved. Add the glucose and margarine to the bowl, stirring constantly. Stir thoroughly again, set aside to cool.
Step 3
Add a little powdered sugar to the cooled gelatin. Stir the mixture with a wooden spatula, adding new portions of powder until the mixture is very thick.
Step 4
Pour out the remaining mastic.
Step 5
Knead the mastic like a dough until it becomes elastic and no longer absorbs powder.
Step 6
The finished mastic should be stored hermetically wrapped in plastic wrap to avoid drying out.
