Sugar mastic is used to decorate confectionery. You can buy ready-made or make sugar mastic with your own hands at home. There are many different recipe options. The following one has been tried and loved by me more than once.

- icing sugar - 150 g
- condensed milk - 150 ml
- powdered milk - 150 g
- potato starch - 100 g

Step 1
To prepare sugar mastic for decorating cakes, we need a set of available products: powdered sugar, condensed and powdered milk, and starch. Both potato and corn starch can be used. The ratio of the products is approximately 1: 1: 1. Starch is used to dry the finished product so that the mastic is not sticky.
Step 2
First, mix the powdered sugar and milk powder in a bowl. Next, you need to pour in the condensed milk and carefully knead the sugar dough with your hands, which will turn out to be very sticky. Now gradually, without stopping to knead, add starch, reducing the stickiness of the mastic.
Step 3
You can use sugar mastic right away. Or you can wrap it with cling film, put it in a glass or plastic container, close it tightly with a lid and store it in the refrigerator. In this case, before using the mastic, you need to give time to warm up, then wrinkle it properly with your hands, if necessary, slightly moistened with water.
