Roast beef is an incredibly tasty and very mouth-watering dish originally from England. It is made from fresh beef. The meat is pre-fried or baked. It can be consumed both cold and hot.
Classic roast beef
To prepare the dish, you will need the following products:
- 1.5 kg of beef;
- 4 onions;
- 70 g of butter;
- 2 tbsp. wheat flour;
- 3 tbsp. olive oil;
- 2 tbsp. chopped fresh thyme;
- 3 tbsp. grated horseradish;
- 3 tbsp. green pepper;
- salt according to your taste.
For a flavored sauce:
- 120 ml of fresh low-fat sour cream;
- 2 tbsp. chopped green pepper;
- 3 tbsp. horseradish.
Preheat oven to 200C. Peel the onion, cut into small slices. Place them on a pre-oiled baking dish.
Place in a food processor: butter, chopped thyme, pepper, and grated horseradish. Mix everything until smooth. Rinse the meat, dry it, pour it with the resulting paste and put everything neatly on the onion.
Then dust the beef with flour and season with olive oil. Bake the dish in the oven for about 35 minutes until cooked through.
Make a flavorful sauce. In a small bowl, combine: sour cream, grated horseradish and chopped green pepper. Cut the finished dish into portions, sprinkle with salt and serve on a pillow of onions with the resulting sauce.
Roast beef in a slow cooker
To prepare the dish, you will need products:
- 700 g of beef;
- 3 tbsp. olive oil;
- 1/2 tbsp. dry white wine (12%);
- 3 tbsp. mustard;
- rosemary, pepper and salt according to your taste.
Rinse the beef, dry a little, put in a bowl. Season with pepper, salt and brush with mustard. Pour the wine over the meat and leave for 45 minutes. After the time has passed, put the beef with the marinade in a multicooker bowl, add olive oil and a little rosemary, which will add flavor to the dish.
Set the "stewing" mode, roast beef cooking time 1 hour. Cut the finished dish into small pieces and serve with any side dish of your choice.
Grilled roast beef
To prepare roast beef, you will need products:
- 1, 2 kg of fresh beef tenderloin;
- 2 tbsp. strong beef broth;
- 4 tablespoons olive oil;
- 4 tablespoons beef fat;
- 1/2 tbsp. low-fat milk;
- 2 tsp fragrant honey;
- 2 chicken eggs;
- 2 tbsp. flour;
- black pepper, salt according to your taste.
Wash the beef, tie it off with cooking string and brush with 2 tablespoons of oil. Leave everything for 2, 5 hours. At this time, start preparing the dough. In a small bowl, gently break the eggs, add honey, pour in flour and pour in milk (dilute it halfway with water), mix everything thoroughly. Knead the dough.
Preheat the grill, set the temperature to 210 ° C. Gently grease the dish, place the beef there. When the fat boils, pour in the dough halfway through the mold, cook for 45 minutes.
Heat the grill again and place the tenderloin on the wire rack, cover, cook for 20 minutes. Then reduce the temperature to 160 ° C, transfer the meat to the tray, cook for 35 minutes. Evaporate the meat broth to 1/2 cup, add the juice that remained after baking the meat. Cook everything until thickened.
Cut the finished dish into small slices, pour over the sauce and serve.
