Classic toppings for pancakes

The most famous pancake fillings have long been a classic in Russian cuisine. For example, minced meat fried with onions. The pancakes stuffed with it are very satisfying, high-calorie and are served as an independent dish. And the cottage cheese? Pancakes with cottage cheese are the most frequent guest on the tables. It is enough to fill the curd mass with sugar and sour cream, coat the unrolled pancake, roll it up and cut it in half. Fast, tasty and easy. And if you first add a raw egg to the cottage cheese, put the formed pancakes on a baking sheet, pour with melted butter and simmer for 15 minutes in a hot oven, then the pancakes will become incredibly tasty, strong, with a crispy crust and souffle-like filling.

The most famous types of minced meat for pancakes include mushrooms, cheese, boiled liver with rice, and, of course, red fish and caviar. Pancakes with caviar in the old days took pride of place on the tables of the master.

Stuffed pancakes with a modern twist

But traditions are changing, and today stuffed pancakes are acquiring completely new recipes. Not so long ago, invented, but already become familiar, pancakes with boiled condensed milk began to be served even in cafes and restaurants as a dessert. Pancakes are now stuffed with seafood, pieces of exotic fruits in honey sauce and various salads.

Pancake fillings have become so varied and sophisticated that this dish is just right to equate with the works of culinary art. At home, and without any special frills, pancakes can be stuffed with any products found in the refrigerator.

The filling of crab sticks, boiled eggs and fresh vegetables (tomatoes, cucumbers) can become original and unusual. Another modern filling option is boiled broccoli and grated cheese. Pancakes with cheese filling must be cooked so that the cheese melts and holds the rest of the ingredients together.

If there are apples or pears, then they can also be filled with pancakes. To do this, the pieces of fruit are first caramelized, that is, they are fried for a couple of minutes in a small amount of oil in a pan. Sprinkle immediately with sugar and cinnamon and wrap in pancakes.
