If the milk is sour, do not pour it out. You can cook many delicious dishes from it: cottage cheese, pancakes and pancakes, pies, pies and dumplings, as well as vegetable snacks and soups.
Tarator soup recipe
This dish of Bulgarian cuisine is a cold soup popular also in Macedonia. It is served, as a rule, before the second courses or at the same time with them. The main ingredients of the tarator soup are sour milk, cucumber, walnuts and garlic. To prepare this dish you will need:
- ½ glass of sour milk;
- ½ glass of water;
- 1-2 fresh cucumbers;
- 1 tbsp. l. walnut kernels;
- 1 clove of garlic;
- ½ eggs;
- 1 tsp greenery;
- 1 tbsp. l. vegetable oil;
- salt.
Combine sour milk with water and whisk well. Peel the cucumbers and cut into small cubes. Peel a clove of garlic, pass through a press and rub with salt. Chop half of the hard-boiled egg with a knife. Pound the walnut kernels in a mortar. Then pour the chopped cucumbers with a whipped mixture of sour milk and water, add garlic, chopped with salt, chopped egg, season the soup with vegetable oil, sprinkle with chopped herbs and crushed walnuts. Tarator soup is served cold to the table.
Zucchini snack recipe
To prepare a spicy spicy zucchini snack with sour milk dressing, you need to take:
- 750 g zucchini;
- 500 ml of sour milk;
- 5 cloves of garlic;
- dill greens;
- red sweet ground pepper;
- butter.
Peel the zucchini and cut into slices about an inch thick. Then dip in salted boiling water, add a few sprigs of dill and boil until tender. Use a slotted spoon to catch the zucchini circles, place them on a paper towel and pat dry. Then transfer to a dish. Peel the cloves of garlic, pass through a press, put in sour milk and mix well. Pour the cooked dressing over the zucchini. Melt the butter in a small saucepan (you can replace it with vegetable oil if you wish), add red bell pepper to it, stir and season the zucchini with this mixture before serving.
Cupcake recipe
By far, baking is the most popular way to use sour milk. To make a cupcake with sour milk, you will need:
- 3 glasses of sour milk;
- 2 glasses of sugar;
- 1 glass of semolina;
- 3 glasses of flour;
- 4 eggs;
- ½ tsp. soda;
- any fruit, berries or nuts.
In a deep bowl, combine the dry ingredients: flour, baking soda and granulated sugar. Pour the semolina with sour milk and set aside for 15-20 minutes to swell. Then connect all the components. Pour the swollen semolina into the flour mixture, add fruits, berries or nuts of your choice. It can be pitted cherries and raisins, dried apricots, canned pineapple pieces, black and red currants, plums, apples, chopped walnut kernels, etc. Drive the eggs into the prepared mass and mix everything thoroughly. You should get a dough with the consistency of thick sour cream. Pour it into a silicone or heat-resistant mold and place it in an oven preheated to 200 ° C. The baking time of the cake is 50-60 minutes.
