Food for exacerbation of the condition: is it possible to eat yogurt
Natural yoghurt is usually included in the diet prescribed for stomach problems. It can be sour, indicated for gastritis with low acidity, or neutral / sweet, such a product is recommended for patients who have high acidity. Eat yoghurts for gastritis in small portions, literally a couple of small spoons at a time. However, you can eat such food very often during the day, up to 5-6 times. It is important that the product does not contain any preservatives, dyes and additives that could impair well-being. But what about yogurt at the time of exacerbation of the pathology?
Doctors strongly recommend refraining from using such a fermented milk product if gastritis manifests itself with very strong symptoms. At the time of an exacerbation, you should not eat dishes that can additionally injure and irritate the gastric mucosa. Yogurt, although being more of a neutral product, can be harmful during an exacerbation, worsen the state of health and cause even more pronounced symptoms of gastritis. In addition, yogurt should not be eaten even in the first week after the state of health has stabilized, since during this period the stomach continues to work not quite correctly, the body needs time to recover a little. Therefore, food should be as gentle as possible.
