A bread sandwich with bacon looks very appetizing, helps to keep warm in the cold season and is an excellent addition to hot dishes. Many people refuse such a dish for fear of harming their figure or raising cholesterol levels, but is this really so?
Almost everyone knows that lard is a very high-calorie product. But not everyone is aware that the combination of a huge amount of fat contained in a product with salt carries a huge burden on the cardiovascular system. People who are prone to overweight, suffering from diseases of the digestive system or diabetes mellitus are allowed to use lard extremely rarely and in very limited quantities. Nutritionists advise healthy people to consume salted lard no more than twice a week in an amount of no more than 30 grams. In order not to harm your health, lard must be consumed with whole grain bread. The fiber in this baked product reduces stress on the gallbladder and pancreas. Bran is an alternative to whole grain bread. They are used as follows: after eating lard with regular bread, you need to eat a tablespoon of bran and drink them with warm water, cold water is not recommended, such a tandem will only increase the load on the pancreas.
When choosing a product, preference should be given to the lard in which there are meat layers, the presence of which indicates that the animal was fed correctly. Lard should be consumed only in salted form, refusing from smoked brisket, in the preparation of which liquid smoke is often used, which endows the product with carcinogens. Potatoes fried in lard are also on the black list, because when the cracklings are heated, the same carcinogens that provoke the development of various neoplasms enter the food. But giving up fat is not at all worth it. The product contains many useful substances that stimulate the brain, improve digestion, and have a beneficial effect on the functioning of many organs.
