There are many different casseroles: hearty and sweet, lean and very fatty. And, probably, every housewife has her own favorite recipe for this dish. But if you still don't know how to make a casserole, then it's time to get better.

The recipe for potato casserole will be appreciated by lovers of tasty and satisfying food, which at the same time cooks very quickly. Potatoes are combined with many products, but the recipe, which will be discussed further, involves a tandem of everyone's favorite root vegetable and minced fish. For cooking you will need:

  • potatoes - 5-6 pcs. medium size;
  • minced fish - 350 g;
  • cheese - 150 g;
  • 1 carrot and onion;
  • vegetable oil - 1 tsp;
  • tomato paste - 1 tsp;
  • greens (dried or fresh) to taste;
  • salt and spices.

Let's start cooking with potatoes. It must either be boiled in a peel, and then peeled and grated on a coarse grater, or mashed from the root vegetable. It is for your own taste. But from experience we can say that if the "potato mince" is made from mashed potatoes, the casserole comes out more tender and airy. So, we will assume that you cooked the root crop in any way you like. Go ahead.

Peel the onion and chop as small as possible. Pour 1 tsp into a preheated skillet. vegetable oil and put onions. Fry for a couple of minutes and add to it the carrots, previously peeled and chopped on a shredder. Season vegetables with salt, add tomato paste and simmer for 10-15 minutes. When they're done, you can mold the casserole.

Place foil in the cooking dish so that the casserole does not burn. Put the minced potato in the first layer, flatten it with a spoon, salt and add your favorite spices. Next, distribute the minced fish (by the way, you can also take meat) and sprinkle it with finely chopped herbs. Top with vegetables fried with tomato paste. Sprinkle everything with finely grated cheese. Cover the foil and send the dish to bake in the oven for 30 minutes at 180 degrees. 5 minutes before the end of cooking, open the casserole using a fork or knife (otherwise you will burn your hands on the foil). This is necessary for the top layer of cheese to bake nicely.

That's it, the potato casserole with minced meat is ready. It can be served with fresh herbs or various pickles.
