It is necessary

  • - garlic;
  • - greens (dill, basil, carrots, cloves, parsley, etc.) - to taste;
  • - refrigerator, freezer;
  • - plastic bags or containers;
  • - napkins, paper towels.

Instructions

Step 1

First, select fresh garlic for freezing, it should be free of stains, mold and rot. Carefully remove all visible dirt from the vegetable.

Step 2

Peel the outer layer of the garlic, wash and dry thoroughly. To do this, spread the garlic on a special napkin or paper towel and wait until it dries completely.

Step 3

Peel the cloves of garlic, cut it into small, even slices. You can also add other herbs of your choice to the frozen garlic: dill, basil, parsley, carrots, etc.

Step 4

Prepare special plastic bags or containers that you have planned for freezing the garlic.

Step 5

Place the chopped garlic in plastic bags, leaving about 2 centimeters of empty space at the top of the bag. This place is necessary because the garlic will expand when frozen. In the bag, you need to distribute the heads of garlic evenly, which will then make it easier for you to use the required amount of frozen product. It is best to use several small bags for this purpose, as the garlic cannot be re-frozen after thawing.

Step 6

It is also recommended that when freezing vegetables, including garlic, stick a small label on a plastic bag, on which the date of freezing should be indicated.

Step 7

Place the garlic bag on a tray or baking sheet and press down with your hands to freeze the food evenly. Place this baking sheet or tray in the freezer.

Step 8

After the garlic is frozen, you can take it out of the refrigerator and arrange it in the way you like so that the bags do not take up much space.

Step 9

When using, break off the frozen garlic as needed and add to dishes such as minced meat, sauces, marinades and other dishes. The frozen garlic can be grated or chopped with a sharp knife. Garlic frozen in this way should be used within 6 months.
