Potato casserole, like the dishes I previously described, is a great way to show your culinary imagination without expensive products and the possibility of spoiling the dish.
Depending on the wishes of the hostess, such a casserole can be either hearty, with fatty meat and other additives, or lean, only with vegetables. It's up to you to decide. And potato casserole is perfect for not very skillful or very busy housewives.
Simple Mashed Potato Casserole Recipe
Take: a pound of potatoes, half a glass of milk, an egg, a tablespoon of butter, 1 onion (small), 200-250 g of minced meat, salt to taste.
Preparation
We clean the potatoes, cook. Fry the minced meat with onions.
We make mashed potatoes with egg, milk, butter. In a baking dish (oiled) or a deep frying pan, lay out layers of mashed potatoes, minced meat, mashed potatoes again. The surface of the casserole can be greased with butter or egg yolk, or you can simply sprinkle with breadcrumbs or grated cheese. Put the casserole in the oven over medium heat and bake until golden brown.

Helpful hint: When you assemble the casserole, add some boiled dry mushrooms to the minced meat. Also, when frying minced meat, you can add almost any vegetables there (frozen or raw, cut into small pieces).
Helpful advice: do not make the potato casserole too thick (overlay many layers), because in this case you run the risk of simply not baking some layers or drying the top and bottom.
