Cabbage rolls are a hearty dish of Slavic cuisine, the progenitor of which is dolma (minced meat wrapped in grape leaves). If you don't have much time to cook dinner, but you really want to please your loved ones with delicious food, then I propose to cook lazy cabbage rolls, which taste no different from ordinary ones, while cooking twice as fast.
Lazy cabbage rolls in layers in a slow cooker
For a multicooker bowl of five liters, you will need:
- half a head of medium sized cabbage;
- about 600-700 grams of ground beef;
- 350 grams of rice;
- two large onions;
- one large carrot;
- salt and pepper.
Turn the multicooker to the "stewing" mode, pour a little vegetable oil into the bowl, and then put the minced meat previously cooked into it. Fry the minced meat for 15-20 minutes with the lid of the kitchen appliance open (required in order for excess moisture to evaporate), while constantly stirring the contents of the bowl.
While the minced meat is fried, rinse the rice thoroughly until transparent, then fill it with cold water and leave for 10 minutes. After a while, rinse the rice again.
Peel and rinse onions and carrots. Remove the unusable leaves from the cabbage. Chop all vegetables: finely chopped onions and carrots, and medium sized cabbage. Fry the cabbage in a skillet so that it juices and is lightly browned.
Once the minced meat is fried, add onions and carrots to it and continue to fry for another 10-12 minutes. After this time, distribute the minced meat evenly over the bottom of the multicooker bowl, on it with an even layer - washed rice, and on the rice - cabbage. Salt and pepper everything, add about 500-700 ml of water, and, if desired, tomato paste or adjika (if you like spicy food).
Set the cooking appliance to the “simmer” mode for one hour. Lazy cabbage rolls in the Redmond slow cooker are ready, you can serve them to the table, after dividing the mass into portioned pieces and decorating, for example, with sprigs of dill or parsley.
