Lazy cabbage rolls resemble their "classic" counterparts in terms of the composition of products, but the process of their preparation is much simpler: you do not have to fiddle with a head of cabbage, taking it apart into separate leaves and getting rid of tough veins. You can cook lazy cabbage rolls in a slow cooker, in the oven, or in a deep skillet.

- - minced meat - 700 grams;
- - white cabbage - 200-300 grams;
- - onion - 1 head;
- - rice - ½ cup;
- - egg - 1 piece;
- - salt and black pepper to taste,

- - sweet pepper - 1 piece;

- - sour cream - ½ cup.

Step 1
To prepare lazy cabbage rolls, you will need about 700 grams of minced meat. Usually, minced beef and pork are used for this dish in a one-to-one ratio, but if you want the dish to be less fatty, you can increase the proportion of beef. Pass the meat through a meat grinder along with the onion, add one egg to the minced meat, as well as salt and ground black pepper to taste.

Rinse half a glass of rice and boil until half cooked in lightly salted water (10-15 minutes after boiling). Throw in a colander, let the water drain, shake the colander vigorously several times to get rid of excess moisture, and add the rice to the minced meat.
Step 3
Chop 200-300 grams of cabbage finely. Place the cabbage in a saucepan, cover with hot water, then bring to a boil and cook for 3-4 minutes (this will make the cabbage softer). Also fold in a colander and let the water drain. Add cabbage to minced meat and rice and knead thoroughly.
Step 4
Form lazy cabbage rolls from the meat-rice-cabbage mixture - small round or oblong cutlets. Dip them in flour.
Step 5
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan and lightly fry the cabbage rolls on both sides until golden brown (5-7 minutes each). If you are cooking lazy cabbage rolls in a slow cooker - also brown them on both sides in the "Fry" or "Bake" mode (12-15 minutes each).
Step 6
Make a vegetable sauce. Peel the onions and carrots, free the bell peppers from the core. Finely chop the onion and pepper, grate the carrots on a coarse grater. Lightly fry the vegetables, add sour cream, pour in half a glass of water, salt and bring to a boil.

Instead of vegetable sauce, you can make a simple tomato gravy, often used by housewives for a recipe for lazy cabbage rolls. Mix two cups of tomato juice (or dissolve 100 grams of concentrated tomato paste in one and a half cups of water) and half a cup of sour cream.

If you are cooking lazy cabbage rolls in the oven, transfer the patties to a deep baking dish, pouring sauce over each layer. Place in an oven preheated to 170-180 ° C and cook for 35-40 minutes.

To prepare lazy cabbage rolls in a slow cooker, place them in a bowl, pour over the sauce and cook in the "Stew" mode for 50-60 minutes. In a similar way, you can cook cabbage rolls in a deep frying pan, covering it with a lid. But the cooking time in this case is better to be reduced to 30-35 minutes.
