Melt the butter in a saucepan. Add egg, sugar, salt and mix thoroughly.

Pour kefir into the resulting mixture and mix again.

Add baking powder to the contents. Stir and then gradually add the sifted rye flour while stirring the dough. The prepared dough should not stick to your hands and should be soft.

After you have kneaded the dough, let it stand, to do this, cover it with plastic on top and leave it in a warm place to come up for two hours. Knead the dough once within two hours.

Roll the dough into a ball shape and divide into nine pieces.

Make mini balls out of nine pieces of dough. Use your hands to flatten the top side and make holes in the center of the cakes with a fork. Then dip the tortillas in sesame seeds or any other variety of nuts and seeds such as pumpkin seeds.

Step 7

Lubricate the top of the cakes with water and leave them on the baking sheet for another half hour.

Step 8

Place the rye cakes with sesame seeds in the oven and bake at about 200 degrees for a maximum of 15 minutes. To check the readiness, pry a rye cake with a knife, if it is hard and does not bend, but is browned from below, this means that the rye cake is ready.
