If the house does not have an oven, this does not mean at all that you will have to give up delicious homemade pies. They can also be cooked on a regular gas stove in a saucepan, in a bread maker, in a double boiler and in a water bath. It should be borne in mind that the recipe for such pies will differ from the usual one designed for the oven.

It is necessary

    • For Steamed Apple Chocolate Pie:
    • a double boiler or two pots;
    • 6 eggs;
    • 200-220 g butter;
    • 200 g of dark chocolate;
    • 250-300 g sugar;
    • 200 g wheat flour;
    • 200-300 g of apples;
    • 3 tbsp. l brown sugar.
    • For the pie in the pan:
    • 8 eggs;
    • 2 cups sugar;
    • 2 cups of flour.

Instructions

Step 1

Steamed Apple Chocolate Pie Wash, peel, core, and slice apples. Dissolve a piece of butter in a skillet, add brown sugar, wait until it dissolves, and caramelize the apple wedges.

Step 2

Grate the chocolate or chop finely with a knife, place it in a small saucepan or enamel bowl. Pour more water there, put on fire, bring to a boil and place a bowl of chocolate in it: let it melt in a water bath.

Step 3

Take chilled eggs, wash, separate the yolks from the whites. Put the yolks in a deep and wide bowl so that all the other ingredients fit there, and the proteins in a medium, but always clean and dry, not a drop of water. Beat the yolks, gradually adding sugar, it should dissolve almost completely, and the mixture should become almost white.

Step 4

Soften the butter, mash with a fork and add to the yolks, beat the mixture until smooth. Pour in melted chocolate, stir. Sift the flour through a sieve and, stirring so that no lumps form, add to the chocolate mass.

Step 5

Whisk the whites into a strong foam, add them to the chocolate dough, mix gently but thoroughly. The mixture should lighten, have an even light brown color without streaks and spots and a uniform consistency, resembling thick mousse or fatty sour cream.

Step 6

Line a steamer tray or heat-resistant plastic container with foil so that it covers both the bottom and the sides. Add apple slices, cover with chocolate mousse dough, cover with foil and place in a double boiler. Alternatively, bring the cake to readiness in a water bath.

Step 7

Make a water bath: take two pots, one of them should be smaller (in this case, a small saucepan of 1.5 liters is enough) and freely enter the other. Place a heat-resistant low pan on the bottom of a large saucepan (you can use a regular plate), pour water (about half of the saucepan), bring to a boil, put a smaller pan of pie in it, cover the pie with foil, cover the large pan with a lid.

Step 8

Cook in a water bath or double boiler for about forty minutes. Sprinkle the finished cake with powdered sugar and cinnamon or other spices to taste.

Step 9

Take eggs, separate the yolks from the whites, beat the whites and sugar into a strong foam. Add one yolk to the whipped egg whites and beat with a mixer. Then add flour in portions and stir gently.

Step 10

Take a pan with a wide bottom (diameter 32 cm), line the bottom with greased parchment paper on both sides (you do not need to grease the sides of the pan), heat the pan a little.

Step 11

Lay out the dough, cover the pan with a lid, tie a towel at the junction of the lid with the pan, or cover with a towel, tie the ends to the handles, put a load on top. Bake over medium-low heat for about 40-45 minutes, separate the finished cake from the sides with a thin knife, remove, turning it upside down. If desired, soak in syrups, spread with butter cream.
