Pie with meat and potatoes is a very satisfying high-calorie and tasty dish that can be served as a separate dish for lunch or dinner. The pie can be taken with you to a picnic, served on the festive table and baked every day on weekdays. The dish is not difficult to prepare, but requires utmost attention when kneading the dough.

Step 1
To make a meat pie and knead the dough. It is best to use yeast dough. Take a sieve with a fine sieve and sift the flour, repeat this procedure twice and leave for a while. Take only the highest grade flour, as this will make the dough airy and soft.

Pour flour on a wooden board and make a depression inside, add salt and yeast there and stir well with your hands. Break an egg in a separate bowl, add butter, melted vegetable oil or margarine there, beat this mixture with a whisk or using a mixer. Heat the milk in a small saucepan over low heat until boiling. Remove from heat and add to egg mixture.
Step 3
Combine flour and liquid dough base and knead until smooth. The dough should come off your hands. Put it in a bowl and wrap it with a towel, leave it to rise for 10-12 hours, during this time the dough should come up twice, it should be kneaded again and left.
Step 4
Peel the potatoes and cut them into wedges with a sharp knife. Put in a separate bowl and salt, you can add a little garlic, which you first grate or crush with a knife.
Step 5
Any meat can be used, if it is chicken, then the baking time of the pie will be reduced by 15 minutes. Wash the product in running water and cut into slices about a centimeter. Peel the onions and cut them into small cubes. Melt a piece of butter in a skillet and fry the meat, potatoes and onions until half cooked.
Step 6
Divide the dough into two parts. A large and small one that will serve as a cake lid. Take a baking sheet and wipe it with vegetable oil, lay out one part of the dough that was previously rolled out in an even layer and flatten it, you can make bumpers. Place the filling on the dough and sprinkle with finely chopped herbs. Cover with the second part of the dough and make a small hole in the middle, pour 50 ml of water inside the cake. Put in the oven at 200 degrees for 1-1.5 hours. The cake is ready when no sticky dough is left on it when pierced with a fork.
