Cooking frozen pumpkin dishes at home is understandable for many housewives. From frozen pumpkin, you can cook everything that is prepared from fresh, the main thing is to defrost it first and squeeze out the water slightly. A tasty dish at any time of the year is guaranteed to you.
Pumpkin is not only a delicious orange vegetable, but also a very useful addition to a dish. Its pulp contains vitamins of groups B, A, E and K, which charge the whole body with health.
Before use, the pumpkin is washed, skinned, cut and seeds removed. The pulp is cut into pieces, then stewed, boiled, steamed, baked. The mellower and brighter the vegetable, the tastier the dish will turn out. In many recipes, fresh food can be substituted for frozen food.
Pumpkin is a seasonal vegetable, therefore, in order to enjoy its taste and be saturated with vitamins in winter, it is recommended to freeze it. This is done very simply. When the pumpkin starts to boil under the influence of slow fire, you can turn off the oven, add butter and honey (sugar) to the porridge. Porridge from pumpkin harvested for the winter can be cooked with different cereals - semolina, rice or wheat groats. If you add jam, jam or sweet berries to it, you can get an unusual taste every time. The porridge will not become boring, and the body will always be able to receive additional nutrition with a variety of useful substances from frozen pumpkin.
Pumpkin with rice
We send defrosted pumpkin pieces (no more than 200 grams) to the pan along with chopped hot peppers, add chopped onions and cook until the latter is soft. This is followed by the turn of rice, stirring, wait until it absorbs all the liquid from the pan and pour in 50 ml of wine. We evaporate it. In a separate saucepan, heat or boil a liter and a half of broth (meat or vegetable - optional), add the ladle to the rice and wait until it is absorbed. Pumpkin with tomato
Defrost a kilogram of frozen pumpkin, in the meantime, peel a couple of onions and a carrot, chop the first ingredient, the second three on a grater. We send them to stew on hot oil. After a couple of minutes, add chopped peppers to them (you can also sweet or hot ice cream). Add pumpkin and simmer under the lid for about 15 minutes, then put a couple of tablespoons of tomato puree, mix and leave for a couple of minutes. Add basil, oregano, or thyme if desired. They perfectly set off the taste of pumpkin. If you like a more satisfying meal, add a glass of rice and wait until it is ready.
Pumpkin with oatmeal
It is no secret that oatmeal is useful in any form, and in combination with fruits and pumpkin, it is a vitamin bomb that will not go unnoticed by the body.
So, boil a third of a glass of milk and so much water in a saucepan, add the defrosted pumpkin. Next, add three tablespoons of oatmeal and bring them to readiness. Using a blender, turn the mixture into a cream. Peel the apple and cut into small cubes, chop a handful of walnuts, soak a handful of raisins in hot water. Add all the ingredients to the cream, add ginger and cinnamon to taste, drip a little olive (linseed, pumpkin seed) oil and pour over with honey. Breakfast is ready.
Soup
Pumpkin is convenient because, due to the simplicity of execution, many dishes from it are available even to inexperienced housewives. It is not difficult to make soup from such a semi-finished product. You need to take:
