Dishes prepared using cabbage are always healthy and light enough. If you want to diversify your menu, then prepare a cabbage casserole. This casserole will be a great dinner and will not take a lot of time.
To make a cabbage casserole, you need the following ingredients:
- white cabbage - 500 g;
- sour cream - 100 ml;
- chicken eggs - 2 pcs.;
- salt - to taste;
- semolina - 100 g;
- sunflower oil - 1 tsp;
- spicy herbs - 1 tsp.
The preparation of this dish must be started by processing the cabbage. Remove any coarse or spoiled top leaves from the vegetable, then cut the cabbage into medium slices. Put a pot of water on the fire, bring it to a boil, add salt and add the chopped cabbage. After the contents of the pot have boiled, reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes. Then place the boiled cabbage on a sieve to drain the water.
Transfer the cabbage to a deep bowl, add salt, spices and any herbs to taste, as well as semolina. Keep in mind that the taste of the cabbage itself is rather bland, so you can use a mixture of herbs such as dill, basil, parsley, green onions, and marjoram.
Mix the contents of the bowl well: you need the semolina grains to spread over the cabbage. Now you can break chicken eggs into this mass and add sour cream. According to this recipe, sour cream can be replaced with any fermented milk product, for example, yogurt or kefir.
Next, stir and leave the contents of the bowl for about 20-30 minutes. This time is needed for the semolina to swell.
Grease a baking dish with oil, and then transfer your future casserole into it, level it and sprinkle it with finely grated durum cheese on top, and add chopped herbs. Place the baking sheet with the casserole in the oven at 180 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
After the cabbage casserole is ready, cool it slightly, then cut into portions and serve. Cabbage casserole tastes great both warm and cold.
