In a microwave oven, you can adjust the time and mode of cooking - this greatly expands the possibilities of its use. For example, in it you can not only cook, fry, bake, but also defrost food, as well as reheat ready-made meals.
Step 2
To check if the crockery is suitable for microwave cooking, you need to reheat the empty crockery on the highest setting for about 30 seconds. If the dishes are very hot or remain cold, you can safely use them. if the dishes are very hot, they are not suitable for the microwave.
Metal dishes reflect microwaves and prevent them from penetrating food, so they must not be used! It should also be remembered that metal is often used to make labels and designs that can be found on dishes. Microwaves strike them and cause sparks.
Step 3
Can be used:
- cookware made of heat-resistant glass - it withstands microwaves and "passes" them well to the food being prepared;
- utensils for roasting in a microwave oven - for frying food (when using, you must adhere to the manufacturer's instructions);
- plastic dishes - for heating food. It should be remembered that only dense and sufficiently thick plastic is suitable for use in the microwave (special containers are made of it marked "for the microwave"). Containers made of thin plastic (for example, yogurt jars) cannot be used, they can be deformed;
- ceramics and porcelain - only if there is no metal decor on it;
- wooden coasters, baskets, paper and cardboard - for quick warming up of finished products;
-plastic film - for covering and lining the dishes from the inside. To prevent the film from sticking to food, swelling or exploding, you need to make 1-2 small cuts on it with a knife.
