Homemade cake should not only be tasty, but also beautiful. If you have prepared baked goods for a certain event - for example, a birthday - decorate the product with the appropriate inscription. It can be made with cream, icing, sprinkling, cut out of dough, made from caramel or chocolate.
Delicious inscriptions: choosing options
It is better to make the inscription on the cake from the products that are included in its composition. For example, an open yeast cake can be garnished with letters made from thin strips of dough. Sponge cake with fruits should be decorated with powdered sugar, and the same product with a coating of chocolate cream should be decorated with cocoa powder. For such a cake, inscriptions made with melted chocolate are also suitable.
More fancy cakes can be decorated with unusual lettering made from caramel or frozen chocolate. These letters resemble lace and are positioned both horizontally and vertically. For children's parties, lay out the inscriptions with sugar beads or chocolate pills in colored glaze. Kids like this simple decor very much, besides, they themselves can take part in decorating the dessert.
Before you start decorating, draw a sketch on paper. You will know if the selected decal will fit on the surface, or if you have to shorten the text and reduce the font. If necessary, make a stencil out of heavy white paper. The text does not need to be centered. Letters look very nice in the corner, laid out diagonally, as well as inscriptions on the side surface of the product.
Several decor options
Try to garnish an open sweet yeast dough pie. Peel off a portion of the dough before rolling. Roll the main mass into a layer, make sides along the edge and place the workpiece on a baking sheet. Spread the filling on top. Roll out the set aside dough on a floured board. Use a sharp vegetable knife to cut out letters or short words. To do this, it is convenient to use a pre-prepared stencil. Please note that the text from the dough should be short and the letters large enough. Place the lettering over the filling, then brush the dough with a beaten egg to create a golden brown crust. Bake until tender and then refrigerate.
Decorate the closed sponge cake with a sweet filling with powdered sugar. Prepare a thick paper stencil by cutting out the inner parts of the letters and the inscription itself. Place the stencil on the cake and dust the surface with a thick layer of powdered sugar. Carefully remove the stencil - the inscription will be clearly visible on the cake.
Delicate lace inscriptions made of chocolate look very impressive. Melt dark, milk, or white chocolate in a water bath. Chill it slightly and transfer to a cut-off plastic bag. Write the letters or words you want on a piece of paper. Gently squeezing the chocolate out of the bag, outline the outline of the lettering and let the glaze harden. Then carefully remove the letters from the paper, being careful not to break them. Arrange the chocolate labels on the surface of the cake, sticking them vertically into the cream.
