For a long time, people have added natural sweeteners to drinks to make them taste better. Well, when the first sugar was created from cane, everyone who could afford it began to use it. Today, nutritionists and doctors do not consider this product to be useful, so those who care about their health try to choose the least harmful types from the whole variety of sugar.
Instructions
Step 1
The most popular today are three types of sugar: white sand made from sugar beets, brown lump and cane. Moreover, the last two are considered to be more beneficial to health, since they are an unrefined product. This is partly true - in such sugar there are much more useful substances than in refined white sand. For example, they contain trace elements such as iron, calcium and potassium.
Step 2
Meanwhile, scientists confirm the fact that cane sugar, which is considered elite, quite often contains undesirable impurities that are absent in a refined product. The calorie content of all types of sugar is approximately the same and amounts to 19 kcal per 1 teaspoon. They also contain fast-digesting sugars, which are not beneficial to the body anyway. Thus, the effect of all types of this product on human health is approximately the same.
Step 3
Nevertheless, it is not necessary to completely give up sugar, unless your health condition forces you to do so. It is enough just to reduce its consumption to 50 g per day. True, you need to remember that this amount also includes sugar, glucose and fructose, which are found in sweets, baked goods, store-bought yoghurts, sugary drinks, fruits, milk and even mushrooms. So, in the end, you shouldn't eat more than 3 teaspoons a day of pure sugar.
Step 4
Sugar is necessary for our body, as it stimulates mental activity, has a beneficial effect on the nervous system, and also helps to produce the energy that a person needs. However, the benefits are not quickly absorbed sugars, but complex ones. The latter are found, for example, in durum wheat pasta, dried fruits, grapes, brown rice and other cereals. Eating small amounts of these foods daily will not only replenish the required amount of sugar in the body, but will also bring great health benefits.
Step 5
As for the sugar substitutes existing today, it is better to use them only when necessary, for example, with diabetes mellitus. While opinions vary about the quality and healthiness of these products, there is no scientific evidence to show that they have a negative impact on health. However, even when consuming them, one should observe the measure, since in large quantities, as you know, vitamins can also cause harm.
