Potato dishes are one of the most popular in Russia. There are a huge number of all kinds of recipes for its preparation. One of these is "boats" made from young potatoes stuffed with mashed potatoes, spices, cheese and fried bacon.

It is necessary

  • For 8 servings:
  • - 8 slices of bacon, cut into 1 cm thin slices
  • - 4 pieces of large potatoes, better than young
  • - 3 tbsp. l of vegetable oil
  • - 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • - 1/4 tsp paprika
  • - 1 tbsp. l grated parmesan cheese
  • - 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • - vegetable oil for deep frying
  • - 2 cups grated cheddar cheese
  • - 1/2 cup sour cream
  • - 1/3 chives, chopped

Instructions

Step 1

Cut the bacon or ham into 1 cm thin slices and fry in a pan until the bacon is crispy. Place on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.

Step 2

Wash large potatoes well without peeling them. Put in a form covered with parchment and watered with 3 tbsp. tablespoons of vegetable oil. Bake in a preheated oven up to 240 ° C on one side for 8 minutes, turn the potatoes over and bake on the other side for 8 minutes. When the potatoes are completely cooked, remove from the oven and allow to cool.

Step 3

Slice the potatoes lengthwise. Take the pulp with a spoon into a separate plate, leaving the potato skin "boats". They need to keep their shape, so don't scrape the flesh out completely, leaving about 0.5 cm.

Step 4

Grind the extracted potato pulp into mashed potatoes. In a bowl, combine butter, salt, garlic powder, paprika, parmesan cheese and black pepper with mashed potatoes.

Step 5

Heat the oil for deep fat. Dip the potato "boats" in the oil and fry until crisp. Place on a paper towel.

Step 6

Fill the boats with the cooled spiced puree, sprinkle with cheddar cheese and place in the oven for another 7 minutes until the cheese is melted. Serve the potatoes hot, drizzled with sour cream and sprinkled with onions.
