Georgian vegetable salad is prepared quite simply, but at the same time it has a bright and very rich taste. Basil must be used in its preparation. You can decorate the salad not only with lettuce leaves, but also with spinach or Chinese cabbage.
It is necessary
- • 4 ripe tomatoes;
- • 1 medium-sized onion head;
- • 50 g of walnuts;
- • chilli;
- • a full teaspoon of salt;
- • 3 fresh cucumbers;
- • 3 garlic cloves;
- • a bunch of fresh basil greens (preferably red basil);
- • 2 tablespoons of wine vinegar;
- • lettuce leaves;
- • water.
Instructions
Step 1
The tomatoes should be washed, the stalk should be cut off, and then, using a sharp knife, they should be cut into small slices. The cucumbers should also be washed (if desired, you can remove the peel from them), and then cut into thin circles.
Step 2
Remove the husk from the onion, and then cut it in the same way as the cucumber - in very thin rings, for this you need a sharp knife.
Step 3
Rinse the herbs thoroughly under running water and wait for the excess liquid to drain. It is best to grind it with your hands. Just tear the greens into small pieces. But if you want, you can also cut it with a knife into medium-sized pieces.
Step 4
Then you need to take the dish and lay the pre-washed and dried salad beautifully on the bottom. Top it with mixed prepared vegetables.
Step 5
After that, you will need to prepare the dressing sauce. Peeled walnuts should be ground into flour. To do this, it is recommended to use a blender or coffee grinder. In extreme cases, the nuts can be ground in a mortar to a powdery state.
Step 6
Pour the walnuts into a deep cup and put in the same pre-peeled, washed and chopped garlic cloves, ground chili and add the required amount of salt. Then you need to add vinegar and clean water to the resulting mixture. Mix everything well. The finished sauce should be thick enough, like sour cream.
Step 7
Pour the prepared sauce over the salad and the dish can be immediately served.
