A beautiful heart-shaped cake is a great and appropriate gift for loved ones on Valentine's Day. It may seem to novice chefs that baking a cake that has an intricate shape is difficult, but it is not. There are several quick ways to make a heart-shaped cake.
Option number 1 - special form
The most affordable way to make a heart-shaped cake is to bake a biscuit in a matching setting. The baking dish can be silicone, ceramic, detachable or detachable. For baking, it is advisable to use a form with high sides, then the cake will turn out to be high. If the form does not have a high side, then you can bake 2-3 cakes. Even experienced confectioners advise, with a low shape, to make bumpers from several layers of foil.
You can bake a biscuit according to any of your favorite recipes. If there is none, then a fluffy and delicious cake will turn out if you use the following products:
- 4 squirrels;
- 4 yolks;
- vinegar - 1 incomplete tsp;
- salt - a pinch;
- granulated sugar - 120 g;
- vegetable oil - 30 g;
- milk - 40 g;
- vanillin or lemon juice to taste.
Combine the cooled proteins with salt and a bite, beat until double in volume. Without turning off the mixer, pour sugar in portions and beat until dense. After that, flour, yolks, a mixture of milk and butter are driven in with a whisk. The finished dough is poured into a mold, the approximate size of which is 18–20 cm. Bake for 35–38 minutes in an oven preheated to 200 degrees.
Option number 2 - Cut from two biscuits
If there is no ready-made form in the form of a loving heart and for some reason there is no desire to purchase it, then you can build a cake from 2 ready-made biscuits. In this case, bake one biscuit in the shape of a square, the other in the shape of a circle. Moreover, the diameter of a round biscuit in size should be equal to the side of the square. Cut the circle exactly in half, turn the square biscuit and make it in the form of a diamond. Place the halves of a round sponge cake on the top two sides of the square, the folded shape will begin to resemble a heart.
You can decorate the cake with prepared marshmallow mastic or Sundae cream, which turns out to be tender, tasty and perfectly keeps its shape. To prepare the Sundae cream, use the following ingredients:
- milk - 380 ml;
- sugar - 150-180 g;
- egg - 1 pc.;
- cream 33% - 1 glass;
- butter (fat content from 82, 5%) - 100 g;
- starch - 2-3 tbsp. l.
To begin with, mix starch with sugar and eggs, carefully rubbing into an emulsion. The milk is heated to a hot state, then it is poured in portions into the egg-sugar mixture, preventing it from curdling. The mixture is put on a small fire and boiled until sour cream is thick. It turns out a custard, which is well cooled, and then softened butter and whipped heavy cream are driven into it in parts.
Option number 3 - draw a cake-heart
If your chosen one is not averse to trying a meringue with cream, then in a short time you can bake a Pavlova cake in the shape of a heart. Use baking paper and a pencil. Draw on paper not as usual a circle, but a large heart. After turning the paper over, start filling the resulting form with the whipped egg whites, remembering to leave a hole in the middle to fill it with cream and fruit.
The classic recipe for the Pavlova cake includes the following products:
- 4 egg whites;
- icing sugar –200 g;
- corn starch - 1 tablespoon;
- white vinegar - 1 tablespoon
Beat the cooled proteins with vinegar and starch, gradually adding powdered sugar. The result is a dense mass of boiling white. For the cream, you can use whipped cream with a fat content of 33%. The most delicate Pavlova cake is decorated with any bright and sweet fruits and berries.
