Usually, the process of making candied fruits from orange peels is very long. But such a miracle of technology as a microwave allows you to speed up this process several times - in the proposed recipe for making candied fruits, it will take no more than half an hour! Such candied fruits will become a delicious and completely dietary delicacy, and are also ideal for pastries, bread or Easter cakes.
It is necessary
- - peel of one large orange;
- - 7-8 tablespoons of granulated sugar;
- - boiling water.
Instructions
Step 1
Cut the orange peel into small cubes of about 0.5 x 0.5 cm. Place the cubes in a deep heat-resistant bowl or plate.
Step 2
Pour the cubes with a lot of boiling water. Soak for 3 minutes, and then fold over a sieve. Transfer the cubes back to the plate and pour boiling water over again. After 3 minutes, fold back onto a sieve and transfer to a plate again. This is necessary to remove bitterness, wash off plaque from the surface of the crusts, and also slightly soften them.
Step 3
Sprinkle the cubes with five tablespoons of granulated sugar, mix well and microwave - at full power for 3 minutes. Then remove from the microwave; if juice is released, this is normal. Add the remaining sugar, stir and microwave for 5 minutes.
Step 4
Get ready-made candied fruits, mix thoroughly again, add more granulated sugar if necessary (if not all the moisture is gone). Refrigerate. Candied fruits are ready to use.
