Croutons with cheese are a quick and tasty dish for breakfast or dinner. They can be cooked in the oven or fried in a pan. Add spices to the cheese or garnish with vegetable slices to make the dish even more appetizing and healthy.
Croutons with cheese and beer
You will need:
- 6 thick slices of white bread;
- 3 tbsp. tablespoons of butter;
- 250 g of mild cheese;
- 0.5 tsp of red ground pepper;
- 1 tbsp. a spoonful of sweet mustard;
- 2 egg yolks.
Fry slices of bread on both sides until golden brown. Melt the butter and combine with the grated cheese. Pour beer into the mixture, add whipped yolks, red ground pepper and mustard. Pound everything into a homogeneous mass, for this you can use a mixer. Heat the cheese mass in a saucepan without bringing it to a boil. Brush toasted bread with the mixture and place on a baking sheet. In an oven preheated to 200 ° C, cook the croutons until golden brown. Serve garnished with fresh herbs.
Croutons with mozzarella and tomatoes
This delicious Mediterranean-style dish should be eaten hot. Its main charm lies in the contrast between tender mozzarella and garlic bread with a crispy toasted crust.
You will need:
- 4 slices of white toast bread;
- 100 g mozzarella;
- 1 clove of garlic;
- 1 tbsp. a spoonful of butter;
- a few leaves of basil;
- 1 large ripe tomato;
- salt;
- freshly ground black pepper.
Cut a clove of garlic in half and rub slices of bread with it. Then grease them with oil on both sides and fry in a skillet until golden brown. While the bread is toasting, cut the mozzarella and tomato into even circles. Place the cheese on the bread, place the tomatoes on top, sprinkle them with salt and ground pepper. Garnish the croutons with fresh basil leaves and serve immediately.
Croutons with cheese and bacon
This dish can be served as a hot appetizer or as a main course for dinner. Use smoked ham instead of bacon - it tastes great too.
You will need:
- 125 g of cheddar cheese;
- a few chives feathers;
- 1 small onion;
- 250 g of lean bacon, cut into slices;
- 150 ml of low-fat cream;
- 6 slices of bran bread;
- freshly ground black pepper.
Fry bacon in a dry skillet until crisp. Chop the onion finely and brown in the bacon fat. Grind the cheese with a blender, chop the chives and put it on top of the cheese. Add fried bacon and onions, pour in the cream. Pour the mixture into a saucepan and heat. Toast the slices of toast in the toaster. Spread cheese paste over them and serve. If desired, the croutons can be additionally browned in the oven preheated to 200 ° C.
