Torta al papavero is translated from Italian as “poppy seed cake”. It turns out to be unusual, light, hearty, airy and very tasty. This cake is greased with curd cream.

It is necessary
- - 350 g of cottage cheese
- - 300 g granulated sugar
- - 10 g vanilla sugar
- - 3 egg whites
- - 250 ml of milk
- - 350 g icing sugar
- - 300 g flour
- - 10 g baking powder
- - 120 g poppy seeds
- - 1 sachet of cappuccino
- - 180 g butter
- - 1 tbsp. l vanillin
- - salt to taste
Instructions
Step 1
First, pour milk into a saucepan, put on low heat and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add poppy seeds. Leave to cool.
Step 2
Combine baking powder, salt and flour. Whisk granulated sugar and butter, add 1 tbsp. l. vanillin. Combine with flour, mix everything well until smooth. Pour in the milk with poppy seeds and mix well again.
Step 3
Beat 50 g granulated sugar and egg whites until firm foam. Gently mix whites and dough, mix well.
Step 4
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees, pour the dough into a baking dish, place the cake, and bake for 1-1.20 hours, until golden brown. Take the cake out of the oven, cool it down. Cut into two equal pieces.
Step 5
Prepare the cream. Whisk the icing sugar, vanilla sugar and cottage cheese in a mixer.
Step 6
Grease the first cake with cream. Pour in half a cup of water, add one packet of cappuccino and mix with the remaining cream. Put the second cake on top and grease the entire surface with cream again. Store in a cool place for 6-8 hours.
