Various desserts with poppy seeds are always a win-win in homemade baking, reminding us of childhood. Poppy cake with oranges will be a wonderful decoration of the festive table. It is borrowed from American cuisine.

- - 150 g of white sugar;
- - 240 g of premium flour;
- - 3 eggs;
- - 150 g softened butter;
- - 0, 5 sachets of baking powder;
- - 50 g of poppy;
- - 250 g mascarpone;
- - 150 g icing sugar;
- - juice of half an orange;
- - 4 tsp bright confectionery sprinkles for decoration.
Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the orange puree. To do this, remove the peel from two washed fruits and remove the seeds, cut each of them in two and beat in a blender. After adding sugar, beat thoroughly again so that the resulting mixture looks like a puree. Then add eggs, sifted flour, baking powder and slightly softened butter. Stir the resulting mixture. Add poppy seeds and puree until smooth.
Step 2
Put a baking sheet with a split bottom in a hot oven (preheated to 190-200 degrees). Cover it with baking paper soaked in a little oil. Pour the resulting puree, put the last orange cut on top, cut into circles and bake for 40 minutes.
Step 3
Prepare the cream. To do this, you need to use ingredients such as mascarpone, fresh juice from half an orange, and powdered sugar.
Step 4
Allow the baked cake to cool, then divide it into 2 layers. Grease the top of the bottom cake with half of the cream, put the second cake on top. Spread the remaining cream over all the edges of the cake. Decorate with pastry sprinkles.
Step 5
The finished cake should be soaked in a cold place. To do this, just send it to the refrigerator for a couple of hours. It will not be bad if you leave the cake all night.
