It is necessary

  • For the test:
  • - 300 g flour;
  • - 250 g poppy seeds;
  • - 180 g of oil;
  • - 150 g of sugar;
  • - 4 eggs;
  • - 3 tbsp. spoons of milk;
  • - 2 teaspoons of baking powder, grated orange peel.
  • For caramel:
  • - 200 g of sugar;
  • - 50 g butter;
  • - 4 oranges.

Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the caramel for the future cake. To do this, dilute sugar in 100 ml of plain water, put to cook. As soon as the liquid begins to darken, remove it from the stove, add butter, stir thoroughly so that the butter melts completely.

Step 2

Pour the caramel into a mold. Thoroughly coat the sides and bottom of the mold with caramel! Cut the oranges into circles and place them on the bottom of the mold. It is advisable to peel the orange circles.

Step 3

Now prepare the dough. Beat raw eggs with sugar, add melted butter, mix well. Gradually add flour, poppy seeds, milk, baking powder and orange zest. The consistency of the dough should be the same as for pancakes. If it comes out too tight for you, then just add more milk.

Step 4

Pour the dough into a mold over the oranges, flatten. Put in the oven, cook the poppy seed cake with oranges for 50-60 minutes at a temperature of 160-180 degrees. Use a wooden skewer to check that the cake is done.

Step 5

Let the finished cake cool, turn over onto a large flat dish so that the caramelized oranges are on top. Cool completely, then serve with freshly brewed tea.
