Pumpkin is a gift of nature that is very useful for the human body and rich in vitamins. You can serve pumpkin to the table just like that, or you can present it as an addition to some dishes. One of these dishes is milk rice porridge, a dish that goes well with this unique berry. By preparing this porridge, you will get a very nutritious and delicious breakfast that will surely please both children and adults.
It is necessary
- - round grain rice - 500 g;
- - pumpkin - 300 g;
- - milk with a fat content of 2.5% - 1.5 liters;
- - water - 0.5 l;
- - butter - 50 g;
- - sugar to taste;
- - salt - 1 tsp.
Instructions
Step 1
Peel and seed the pumpkin, cut into small cubes with sides about 2-3 cm in size. Rinse the rice several times until the water is completely transparent.
Step 2
Transfer the washed rice to a saucepan, add cold water and cover. Set the maximum temperature for the water to boil. After boiling, add salt to the water and reduce the temperature slightly to medium. Cook the rice until tender, about 10 minutes.
Step 3
When all the water has boiled away, pour milk into a saucepan, add chopped pumpkin and add sugar to taste. Bring to a boil. After that, cook the porridge until the rice is fully cooked for 20 minutes. Meanwhile, melt the butter on the stove or in the microwave.
Step 4
Remove the prepared milk porridge from the stove and place on plates. Pour melted butter over each serving.
