At the peak of summer abundance, even a berry like strawberry can get bored. To give it a spicy new flavor, try a cold fruit salad variation with an unusual sauce.
It is necessary
- - strawberries - 800 g
- - cherry or black currant liqueur - 2 tbsp.
- - cherry or black currant juice - 4 tablespoons
- - icing sugar - 3 tablespoons
- - lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- For the sauce:
- - pistachios - 500 g
- - white chocolate - 40 g
- - lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- - icing sugar - ½ tbsp.
- - sour cream - 2 tablespoons
Instructions
Step 1
Wash the strawberries, peel and cut in half. Choose firm, unripe berries without excessive wateriness. Transfer the berries to a large bowl. Pour juice and liquor over the strawberries (if the salad is for children, discard the latter). Sprinkle the berries with 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar and lemon juice to keep the strawberries fresh. Cover the container with the berries with a lid and refrigerate for thirty minutes (or put in a cool, dark place).
Step 2
For the sauce, chop the nuts finely in a processor or knife. Break the white chocolate into pieces and melt it slightly. Transfer pistachios and chocolate to a bowl, stir and cool slightly. Add lemon juice, sour cream and powdered sugar to them. Mix gently.
Step 3
There are several options for serving this dish. Transfer chilled strawberries to salad bowls or bowls. Top with pistachio sauce and garnish with mint sprigs. This dessert can be a good addition to a sponge cake without filling. Cut the biscuit into slices, transfer to a plate and top with the strawberry sauce. The easiest way is to put the strawberry sauce in a bowl and add a scoop of vanilla ice cream. This option will especially appeal to children.
