This sweet fragrant set, decorated with confectionery painting, like a time machine, takes us back 150 years ago, when on Easter people gave each other lighted dyed eggs and painted gingerbread, and after the service in the church on Christ's Resurrection, the whole family went to visit relatives or friends.
It is necessary
- - gingerbread blanks;
- - sugar glaze of different colors;
- - food colorings;
- - thin brush
- For ginger dough:
- - 150 g butter;
- - 0.5 cups of honey;
- - 0.5 cups brown sugar;
- - a teaspoon of baking soda;
- - 450 g flour;
- - a tablespoon of ginger;
- - a teaspoon of cinnamon;
- - 0.5 teaspoon of nutmeg;
- - 0.5 teaspoon of cloves;
- - 0.5 teaspoon baking powder;
- - egg
Instructions
Step 1
Make gingerbread batter. Combine butter, honey, sugar in a small saucepan. Heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves. Bring to a boil and remove from heat.
Step 2
Add baking soda, stir. Transfer the mixture to a large bowl. Set aside to cool. Sift the spice flour and baking powder into a bowl of butter mixture. Add a lightly beaten egg, stir. Place the dough on a lightly floured surface.
Step 3
Knead the dough gently. Divide the dough into 2 parts, form each into a disk and wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 45 minutes. Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Line 2 baking sheets with baking paper.
Step 4
Roll each half of the dough into a 5 mm thick slab. Cut out the cookies, transfer them to baking sheets. Bake one baking sheet at a time for 8 minutes.
Step 5
Leave the cooked cookies on the baking sheet for 5 minutes to cool slightly, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Step 6
Now the gingerbread cakes from honey, sugar or ginger dough of the required shape that have cooled down and settled for 24 hours can be painted. Start with a gingerbread cake.
Step 7
Use white icing on the cap and sprinkle with sugar decor immediately on top. Let the icing set well and garnish with a satin ribbon in addition.
Step 8
Color the flower next. Fill the petals with blue icing. This procedure should be done very carefully, not allowing the glaze to drain.
Step 9
Wait until the petals are completely dry and shape the middle. Pour glaze in the center of the flower, cover with sugar decor. Set the flower aside and move on to the next gingerbread.
Step 10
Next, color in the chicken gingerbread. Gradually fill the areas with glaze of the corresponding colors. When the gingerbread is completely dry, use food coloring and a thin brush to paint the eyes and emphasize the folds on the apron.
Step 11
The gingerbread chicken will perfectly complement the Easter set. Fill the sections of the gingerbread step by step with icing of the appropriate color. After the glaze has completely dried, paint in the eyes and folds on the bow.
Step 12
Then the next in turn is a gingerbread with the letters "ХВ". Fill the letter "X" with blue glaze. The letter "B" is brown. After the frosting has hardened, cover the letter "B" with gold candurin.
Step 13
It remains to decorate the Easter eggs with different patterns. Fill the first egg with white glaze and, after it has completely solidified, paint willow branches with brown icing. On dried icing, paint the blossoming buds with white glaze.
Step 14
It remains only to "tie" the branches with red glaze, and the first Easter egg is ready. Fill the second egg with the blue frosting and immediately dot with the white frosting. You should make a polka-dot egg.
Step 15
When the frosting is finished, paint the monogram with brown frosting. Apply golden kandurin to the dried brown glaze. The second Easter egg is ready. Stack the gingerbread cookies together and admire the delicate, spring-like Easter set.
