Take coffee with you in a thermos - what could be better for a long journey? This is especially important for those who drive a car constantly and far. You can brew both black coffee and green coffee in a thermos. In addition, the thermos is an excellent brewing dish for home use, for example, if you need to serve coffee to guests.
Coffee in a thermos on the road
Scald a thermos with boiling water, then pour ground coffee into it. Use about ¾ of the usual dosage. Since the coffee will take a long time to brew on the road, it will be very strong with the usual amount of coffee powder. Usually 9-10 spoons of black coffee are enough for 1 liter of water. Better to take a fine grind.
Leave the thermos for 2-3 minutes, but do not close the lid. After this time, add sugar or milk to taste and only then tighten the lid. Coffee will be added on the way.
True gourmets claim that coffee brewed in a thermos can be stored for only 2 hours, then it gradually loses its taste and aroma. Nevertheless, the invigorating properties of the drink do not disappear after 2 hours.
How to brew green coffee in a thermos
For those who prefer to take green coffee with them, there are also recipes for a thermos, and they are even simpler. Unlike black coffee, green coffee does not lose its properties for many hours, so you do not have to worry about losing taste and aroma.
Rinse the inside of the thermos with boiling water, then add the required amount of coffee. Use 10-12 teaspoons of ground green coffee per liter of boiling water. Wait a few minutes without closing the lid: this is necessary so that the water does not lose its good taste when it cools. Then you can close the thermos and take it with you.
To improve the taste of green coffee, you can add cinnamon, fresh berries or fruits, mint leaves, lime slices, finely chopped ginger. Green coffee is good because it allows more experimentation with additives than black coffee. This is possible because the flavor of green coffee is much less pronounced on its own.
Brewing coffee for home
Sometimes you need to quickly prepare delicious coffee for a large company, but a coffee maker of a suitable volume is not at hand. It would take a very long time to cook everything in a Turk, since it will take several visits, and while the last cup is ready, the first one will already become cold and tasteless. Some people make coffee in a saucepan, but this method requires special skill, since the drink boils easily and imperceptibly and turns out to be tasteless. A thermos is an excellent dish that allows you to get aromatic coffee in the right amount.
Preparing coffee in a thermos for about 10 minutes. Rinse the thermos with boiling water, then add coffee at the rate of 12 teaspoons of finely ground black coffee to 1 liter of water, then pour one or two glasses of boiling water. Now wait 5 minutes, do not close the lid tightly, just cover the thermos. Then open it and add boiling water to the required volume. Wait another 5 minutes. The coffee is ready! It remains only to strain it and pour into cups.
