Pies are good both as an appetizer and as a main course. They can have a wide variety of fillings. For example, meat and mushrooms are a good combination, especially if you choose the right spices, such as garlic, black pepper, or Provencal herbs.

- 120 g butter;

- 2-3 cloves of garlic;
- 1/2 glass of dry white wine;
- salt and pepper.
Instructions
Step 1
Make a traditional Australian beef and mushroom pie. Cut the beef fillet into cubes and fry in a pan with preheated vegetable oil for 10-15 minutes. Transfer to a bowl. Chop the onion finely and cook in the same bowl over medium heat for five minutes. Then add the chopped garlic and cook for a couple more minutes. Then return the meat to the pan.
Step 2
Scald the tomatoes with boiling water, remove the skin and chop. Pour with meat and onions. Put 2-3 tablespoons there. flour to thicken the sauce, season with salt and pepper. Simmer for an hour and a half over medium heat, covered, topping up with water if necessary. Chop the mushrooms, add to the skillet and cook for another half hour.
Step 3
Oil a baking dish with high edges. Roll out the finished puff pastry. Divide it in two. Spread one smaller one around the edges of the dishes inside it. Most will become the top of the pie. Place the filling inside and top with the remaining dough. Thus, the cake will turn out without a bottom. Brush the surface of the pie with whipped yolk so that the crust is golden brown. Bake the dish in the oven for half an hour. The best way to serve the pie is hot, accompanied by tomato sauce.
Step 4
Make a veal and forest mushroom pie. To do this, make a dough by mixing flour, melted butter, eggs, salt and sugar. Add a little water, but so that the dough remains firm.
Step 5
For the filling, make minced veal with garlic. Fry it in a pan, season with salt and pepper. Then chop the wild mushrooms and fry as well. Put the minced meat back, pour the mixture with cream and wine, simmer until the sauce thickens.
Step 6
Roll out the dough and place in a pie tin. Place in a preheated oven for five minutes. Then take it out, put the minced meat and cook for another 15-20 minutes at 200 degrees.
