So, before cooking apple compote, you need to prepare. Slightly acidify the cold water in a saucepan with citric acid. This is to avoid browning the fruit.

Wash the apples thoroughly, then cut the fruits into 6-8 pieces, remove the core and place the pieces in prepared water.

Pour sugar into another saucepan, dilute it with hot water, and after dissolving the sugar, put pieces of apples in the resulting solution.

Bring the compote to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes. The apples should simmer slowly. Check the apples periodically to make sure they are not overcooked.
Step 5
Once the apples are soft, turn off the stove and add orange zest and cinnamon to the compote. Close the pan tightly with a lid and let it brew for 15 minutes. Compote is ready.
